ABSTRACT
RESUMEN Fundamento: los estudios bibliométricos han mostrado la disparidad de género en la ciencia, lo cual pone en riesgo considerable la consecución del objetivo 5 de la Agenda 2030 para el desarrollo sostenible, el que refiere: "Alcanzar la igualdad entre los géneros y empoderar a todas las mujeres y niñas". Objetivo: caracterizar los primeros autores de la revista EDUMECENTRO aplicando un enfoque de género. Métodos: se realizó una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cuanticualitativo, en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara entre enero y marzo de 2021. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos: análisis-síntesis, inductivo-deductivo e histórico-lógico; empírico: análisis documental de los artículos publicados entre 2016-2020; y matemático-estadísticos para el análisis de los datos encontrados. Resultados: entre los autores cubanos predomina el género femenino, y sus cifras relacionadas con la cantidad de artículos publicados como primeros autores, el grado académico y las categorías científicas y docentes son superiores en ellas; sin embargo, en los autores extranjeros predominan ellos como los que más han publicado sus artículos en esta revista en el período analizado. Conclusiones: los resultados exhibidos en esta investigación demuestran el alto desempeño de la mujer científica cubana, como resultado de las políticas sociales de inclusión y equidad de género, establecidas por el gobierno revolucionario como un firme principio enarbolado desde el mismo triunfo de la Revolución. Los estudios bibliométricos que consideran en sus análisis el enfoque de género, ayudan a eliminar las barreras sobre la invisibilidad de la mujer científica.
ABSTRACT Background: bibliometric studies have shown gender disparity in science, which puts at considerable risk the achievement of the 5th goal of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, which refers to: "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls". Objective: to characterize the first authors of the EDUMECENTRO journal applying a gender approach. Methods: a descriptive research with a quantitative-qualitative approach was carried out at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences from January to March 2021. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive and historical-logical; empirical: documentary analysis of articles published from 2016 to 2020; and mathematical-statistical for the analysis of the data found. Results: among the Cuban authors the female gender predominates, and their figures related to the number of articles published as first authors, the academic degree and the scientific and teaching ranks are higher in them; however, in foreign authors the male gender predominates as the ones who have published the most articles in this journal in the analyzed period. Conclusions: the results presented in this research demonstrate the high performance of the Cuban scientific woman, as a result of the social policies of inclusion and gender equality, established by the revolutionary government as a firm principle encouraged since the very triumph of the Revolution. Bibliometric studies that consider the gender approach in their analyze help to eliminate barriers on the invisibility of scientific women.
